Retail Network Transition – Protecting Postal Services

Changes to the Isle of Man Post Office retail network have been effective since 1St April 2026.

These changes ensure postal services remain accessible, reliable, and sustainable across the Island.

What This Means for You

Postal services continue to be available in communities across the Island.

  • Many locations now offer longer opening hours
  • Services are aligned with how customers use them today
  • Online Postage and free doorstep collection remain available 24/7

These updates reflect changing customer needs and support long-term service delivery.

Postal Services in Your Community

Most locations continue to offer everyday postal services.

At some locations, services now focus on the most commonly used options. This helps maintain local access in a sustainable way.

For example, Willaston, Union Mills, and Royal Avenue now provide core postal services only.

Customers can still:

  • Send letters and parcels
  • Drop off pre-paid items and returns
  • Access tracked and standard delivery services
  • Use Online Postage with collection from home

Agency Counter Services - Now available at five locations

Some services are now provided from a smaller number of locations.

This follows regulatory requirements and Government decisions.

The following services are available at five Post Office locations:

  • Bill payments (for invoices up to £650 inc. VAT)
  • MiCard
  • Treasury cheque encashment
  • Foreign currency services*

These services are available at:

  • Douglas
  • Castletown
  • Ramsey
  • Peel
  • Port Erin

*Also available from Postal Headquarters.

Changes to other services

  • Driving licence and vehicle services are no longer available at Post Office counters
  • In central Onchan. Jurby and Foxdale, where current providers have chosen not to continue, we are working to secure new alternative solutions.

Supporting customers

We understand that changes to local services can be difficult.

Support remains available:

  • In person at the five main locations, and multiple postal only sites
  • Online, by phone, or by post for many services
  • Through alternative payment options with direct with service providers

Looking Ahead

These changes help protect postal services for the future.

They:

  • Reflect how customers now access services
  • Maintain Island-wide coverage
  • Support longer opening hours
  • Enable continued investment in digital services

Isle of Man Post Office remains committed to providing dependable, community-based services across the Island.
